Pension Plan
Saving for your future is important so that you can have the retirement you want. As detailed in your contract of employment, the company is required to and ITP plan in line with the collective agreement for white collar workers in Sweden.
With regards to pension ITP is divided into two groups – ITP1 and ITP2
ITP1
- Employees born 1979 or later belong to ITP1
- ITP1 has a pension contribution level of 4,5% up to 7,5 income base amounts (which for 2024 equals a monthly salary of 47 625 SEK) and 30% on salary above this level up to a cap of 30 IBB. This is a defined contribution plan which means the contribution level is decided by the collective agreement and the pension will vary depending on the indivduals investment choices etc.
ITP2
- Employees born 1978 or earlier belong to ITP2
- An ITP2-employee is entitled to 10% of their salary up to 7,5 IBB (47 625 SEK/m) and 65% of salary between 20 IBB (127 000 SEK/m) and 47 625 SEK/m. Then it’s 32,5% on salary between 30 and 20 IBB. ITP2 is a defined benefit plan, meaning that the level of pension is set in advance
- Also within the ITP2-collective there’s a special plan called Alternative ITP. This is only available to employees who have a salary exceeding 10 IBB (762 000 SEK per year). Alternative ITP means that the employee can opt-out of the defined benefit and instead invest the premiums themselves.
